A bit of a cunt is Wiggins , dont know exactly why but cant stand the geezer ...
WTF was that all about yesterday watching one man ride a bike round a tracker for an hour , sad fuckers who thought that was exciting ..

Re: Anybody going to watch Wiggo?
In terms of the most mind numbingly tedious sporting things to watch a solo attempt on the world one hour cycling record has plenty of competition.

The Eire/England game that preceded it for example.

Did Cavendish win the Tour de France the same year as Usain Bolt won the London Marathon?

Re: Anybody going to watch Wiggo?
More like madedifficult than madeeasy. I did not realise that Cavendish had won the Tour de France.

Re: Anybody going to watch Wiggo?
He's put the question marks because it was Froome, not Cavendish

That aside, watching a geezer riding around in a circle for an hour must be one of the most mind numbingly tedious experiences ever.

Re: Anybody going to watch Wiggo?
Cavendish has never, and will never win the Tour de France.

He may win a lot of stages in the race, but to win the overall is a completely different beast. You're thinking of Chris Froome?

Froome has won the race, yes, but he doesn't even come close to matching Wiggins' career and medal haul. Wiggins never got knighted just because he won the TdF.

Re: Anybody going to watch Wiggo?
buster what i meant by that was, he won the tour de France which everyone made out to be the best thing any English person had ever done and they gave him a knighthood, then the following year Cavendish went out and did it without all the fuss.

i do appreciate i have a layman's view on this and am not saying i am right, just giving my view

Re: Anybody going to watch Wiggo?
I kind of assume now that anyone who is really good at this is doing it chemically enhanced so I can't take it seriously as a sport. Same with sprinting, weight lifting and snooker.

'i'm not into cycling, but all he did was one a race, the same as cavendish did the year after'

???

Re: Anybody going to watch Wiggo?
i personally think he is overrated.

i'm not into cycling, but all he did was one a race, the same as cavendish did the year after, so where's cavendish's knighthood?

good sportsman and top of his game, well knocks around the top but overrated individual in my opinion.

ps i don't think cavendish should get a knighthood either

Not so fast Dr Matt. I'm buying a bicycle of my own tomorrow - with a bell. There's still legs in this 52 year old, yet.

Re: Anybody going to watch Wiggo?
Britain's greatest ever sportsman.

Redgrave was carried by Pinsent. Wiggins has achieved what no British man or woman ever will.

Re: Anybody going to watch Wiggo?
I can't stand him. He tries far too hard to be 'cool'.

Great at what he does, but he comes across as a right prick.

Listen to his desert island discs and you might think differently. He isn't as confident/arrogant as he appears.

Much more importantly, are cyclists allowed on the A13 and the A127? Starting to see a few of these knob jockeys on these roads.

Coverage was fucking shocking, didn't even have the distance he had travelled up on the screen, the clock was all over the place and they missed the fucking start. What a collection of retards.
